Prostate Cancer Resources for Surgical Oncology

As part of a multifaceted knowledge translation strategy, the Community of Practice for Prostate Cancer is composed of regional physician champions (surgery, pathology and radiation oncology) from each Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) across Ontario. Valuable guidance from the champions has informed planning for effective next steps, including future knowledge transfer activities.  

These resources may help prostate cancer champions or those who are involved in the care of prostate cancer patients.

Clinical Practice Guidelines

These guidelines examine evidence and provide recommendations on specific topics related to providing optimal treatment for men affected by prostate cancer in Ontario.


Collaborative meetings such as workshops and web-conferences are an effective way to bring people together and are essential in moving quality improvement forward.   

Role of Champions

What is the role of the prostate cancer champion? This tool, created with the help of the prostate cancer champions, provides clarity and guidance.

Educational Tools

Physicians can use these tools to improve their knowledge of prostate cancer management, and engage colleagues by providing an overview of the guideline in the educational presentations, and summary of key points of quality issues related to the guideline from the List Serv.
