Openings for Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) Members

What our PFAC members are saying:

“I understand how to share experiences, and how to provide feedback that can move cancer services forward. It is an honour to be in this role.”
– Janet, PFAC Member

“I have the opportunity to be a partner with CCO in their quest for continuous improvement. Rather than being a vociferous critic of the system, I want to be a passionate contributor of solutions”
– Subi, PFAC Member

A PFAC member commits to 3 in-person meetings per year, with associated readings and working group meetings, over a 1-3-year term.

We aim for equitable representation from across Ontario. Therefore, each region is allotted a limited number of spots on the council.

What our PFAs are saying:

“PFAs bring a very real perspective. Our stories are important because they bring a kind of intimacy between the person being cared for and the person providing the care.”
– Kim, Patient and Family Advisor

“I want to use my experience with cancer to bring about positive changes to the cancer systems to improve care for future patients. I’m motivated by continuous improvement and I believe there is always room to improve a system for the benefit of its users.”
