About the Ontario Cervical Screening Program

The Ontario Cervical Screening Program (OCSP) is a province-wide screening program that provides women with access to comprehensive, coordinated, high-quality cervical cancer screening. The program’s goal is to reduce cervical cancer incidence and mortality.

The OCSP is designed to increase the number of women who have regular screening through a Pap test. Regular Pap tests can detect changes in the cells of the cervix before they become cancerous. Catching these changes early (and treating them, if necessary) can prevent cervical cancer. The program also supports family physicians and nurse practitioners so they can provide the best possible cervical cancer screening for their patients. The OCSP is a program of Cancer Care Ontario.

Letters to Women

We send letters to women to invite them to book a Pap test, inform them of their test results and remind them when it is time to return for screening.  Find out more at Letters to Women about Cervical Cancer Screening
