Cancer Care Ontario launched an Aboriginal media campaign in March of 2009.

The “Let’s take a stand against…Colorectal Cancer!” radio public service announcements aired on both Wawatay and Aboriginal Voices Radio.

Print and on-line public service announcements were published in both the Wawatay News and Turtle Island News.

Aboriginal Voices Radio

Prevention is the main focus of this empowering message, which suggests how to reduce your risk of getting colorectal cancer, and where you can find more information. This radio spot is played in the Toronto and Ottawa areas.

Wawatay Radio Network

With a similar message to the first radio spot, this version airs across Northeastern and Northwestern Ontario.

Wawatay Radio Network - Oji-Cree

Geared toward those who speak Oji-Cree as their first language, this ad informs and educates the listener while being sensitive to and respectful of the audience's cultural perspectives. This radio spot is played in Northwestern Ontario.

Wawatay Radio Network - Leonard Dick

Well known and respected Aboriginal comedian Leonard Dick narrates this empowering and positive message promoting prevention and screening. This radio spot is played in Northwestern and Northeastern Ontario.
